i came face to face with the Wombles at the National Museum of Photography Film and Television over the weekend. amazing experience. it all happened during a behind the scenes tour after seeing the Cyber 3D show at the Imax. whilst looking round one of the rooms Toby noticed a pile of plastic tuppaware boxes on one of the cabinets with 'Wombles' printed on the side. he asked the curator if we could have a look, and low and behold there they all were, Uncle Bulgaria, Madame Sholet and all the others, all along with their props. even if you don't get a chance to see them, the rest of the Museum is well worth a visit.

Took a taxi back from Tim O'Reilly's talk last night, amazed to find a TV built into the cab. After the novelty wore off, and the 5 minute long advert had finished I started getting a little annoyed with it. I was able to turn off the sound but not the picture, which is almost impossible not to watch. I hope this is not going to become the norm, spoiling what is normally a relaxing indulgence.
Delia Smith cooks like a surgeon, Rick Stein cooks like an artist. Delia may know her stuff, but her approach to cooking for me takes all the fun out of it. She seems far too interested in perfect measurements and using all the right equipment. Rick on the other hand is far more passionate about what he does, and obviously loves it. He has persuaded me to start eating and enjoying fish, something I didn't think anyone could do. Two completely different approaches to the same thing.

Found out today that Shaggy from Scooby Doo's real name is Norville Rogers. The guy that did (does?) his voice is Kasey Casem who has done loads of other stuff. I'm sure I know that name from somewhere?
